Zack Snyder's Justice League - 3/18

Not many directors get a chance at a cinematic redo. Ridley Scott, Richard Donner, Francis Ford Coppola (twice), and George Lucas (ad infinitum) are a handful that come to mind. Zack Snyder enters that illustrious group with his epic 4-hour recut of the much-maligned "Justice League," a blockbuster he had to step away from when tragedy struck, leaving it in the hands of "Avengers" helmer Joss Whedon. Whedon's take was a tonal 180 from Synder's vision, and a failure at recapturing the magic he struck in 2012 when he successfully brought Earth's Mightiest Heroes together for the first time. Fans took notice, too, with many believing that that there was a good movie in there somewhere – Synder's true vision that got lost with extensive reshoots. The "Snyder Cut" was a fan dream; but now, after years of rumors, it's a very real thing. Will Snyder's revision redeem the DCEU from cinematic disparagement, or go down as another bloated opus? Time will tell.

Tina - 3/27

Filmmakers Daniel Lindsay and T.J. Martin ("LA 92") gain exclusive access to legendary soul singer and Grammy-winning artist Tina Turner. Lindsay and Martin cover familiar ground, as we've seen Turner's story play out in various forms, whether in the 1993 musical biopic "What's Love Got to Do with It?" or in the recent Broadway musical "Tina: The Tina Turner Musical." But, the documentary cuts through the dramatic license and dives deep offering a final word on the singer's rise to stardom and her tumultuous and abusive marriage to Ike Turner. "Tina" recently premiered at the Berlin Film Festival.
