Irresistible - 2/6 - HBO Theatrical Premiere

With the heaviness of politics of late, we could all use a laugh. Comedian Jon Stewart writes and directs this political comedy that re-teams him with his former "Daily Show" castmate Steve Carrell. When Democratic consultant Gary Zimmer (Carrell) sees that a mayoral election in the heartland could be enough to swing a crucial red state back to blue, he swoops in to help out the Democrat and ex-Marine candidate (Chris Cooper). However, the RNC has other plans, employing a cunning operative of their own (Rose Byrne).

Judas and the Black Messiah - 2/12 - HBO Max Exclusive

Indie director Shaka King ("Newlyweeds") makes a big leap with this hard-hitting historical drama that's already been named one of the top films of the year from the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review. Daniel Kaluuya stars as Fred Hampton, the Chairman of the Chicago Black Panther Party, who finds himself on the receiving end of an FBI sting from one of his own, informant Bill O'Neal (LaKeith Stanfield). Kaluuya shines as Hampton, in a performance that has garnered him three Best Supporting Actor nominations from the Screen Actors Guild, the Critics Choice Awards, and the Golden Globes. Could the Oscars be calling soon, too?

Tom & Jerry - 2/26 - HBO Max Exclusive

It's crazy to think, but up until this point we haven't had a proper "Tom & Jerry" movie adaptation. For their first true cinematic outing, Hanna-Barbera's classic cat and mouse are at each other's throats again, as Tom the cat is recruited by a New York City hotel to capture Jerry the mouse, who has been tormenting the patrons and staff. It's up to hotel employee Kayla (Chloë Grace Moretz) to make sure that Tom stays on target.

HBO and HBO Max have a deep collection of classics to enjoy throughout the month. For those looking for more scares than love this month, HBO has the entire "Saw" franchise to binge, as well as the 1979 original and 2005 remake of "The Amityville Horror'' -- all now streaming. If comedy is more your bag, baby, then HBO Max has all the "Austin Powers" movies for you. Later in the month look for for Christopher Nolan's WWII nailbiter "Dunkirk" on the 12th, Ben Affleck's 2012 Best Picture winner "Argo" on the 20th, Denis Villeneuve's criminally underrated sci-fi sequel "Blade Runner 2049" on the 26th, and Bill and Ted's "Excellent" and "Bogus" exploits on the 27th. Finally, to get you set for Zack Snyder's epic cut of "Justice League" next month, look for "Man of Steel" on HBO, while HBO Max has "Aquaman." The entire list of premieres is below.
