Sony has surprised move fans today by dropping the first official trailer for "Venom 2." After the wild success and high praise that the first "Venom" received, along with the absolutely thrilling post-credits teaser, we've been foaming at the mouth to get a taste of this new sequel. And with that, let's break this sucker down.

Trailer Breakdown: "Venom 2"

Sony opens this trailer with a sleep-deprived, visibly annoyed Eddie Brock (reprised by Tom Hardy) who looks like he hasn't quite adjusted to his new roommate. We're, of course, talking about the symbiote Venom who now lives inside him permanently. Don't get us wrong, there are certainly perks to having an extra set of tentacles. For one, it's a lot easier to make breakfast. But it's definitely much messier, too.

At the end of the day, there's definitely going to be adjustment process that these two will be working on before they're completely in sync. In the meantime, their number one rule is to just not eat people. That seems straightforward enough, right? Even the local liquor store clerk Mrs. Chen has become accustomed to greeting both Eddie and Venom. But the story isn't about these two. This story is about the introduction of a new evil.

Let There Be Carnage

The new villains we'll get to meet in this flick are serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) and his soon to be symbiote Carnage. Brock and Kasady actually had a chance to meet at the very end of the first "Venom" film. And boy was that a cringeworthy meeting. In this trailer, Cletus Kasady speaks about the special bond he feels to Eddie Brock. With Harrelson as the psychopath, you can be assured he'll creep you out pretty quickly. Remember his performance from "Natural Born Killers"? It may be even more spine-chilling than that.

And, if we pay even closer attention, it looks like there may even be a third symbiote in the mix. The host goes by the name of Frances Barrison (Naomie Harris), and her symbiote's name is Shriek. We're not sure how these two (or more accurately four) will come together but we do know that it'll be up to Eddie and Venom to make sure the amount of carnage is minimized.
