The Croods: A New Age
Animated / 2020
Synopsis: Searching for a safer habitat, the prehistoric Crood family discovers an idyllic, walled-in paradise that meets all of its needs. Unfortunately, they must also learn to live with the Bettermans -- a family that's a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. As tensions between the new neighbors start to rise, a new threat soon propels both clans on an epic adventure that forces them to embrace their differences, draw strength from one another, and survive together.
Another adventure awaits as the new trailer for "The Croods: A New Age" (which recently moved up its release date to this Thanksgiving) was released this morning and we're here to break it all down for you.
The sequel to original DreamWorks hit "The Croods" brings back the caveman fam, but this time they're heading into a "new age."
If you saw the first film (if not, there's Netflix), you'll remember the number one rule was "never leave the cave. The all-too-curious Eep broke that rule, which jumpstarted the initial big screen escapade.
Here, the Croods are looking for a new place to call home, so the newest rule is "pack stays together."
At the start of the clip, the family is run off by some vicious-looking reptiles. As they escape, they realize they've stumbled into uncharted territory.
Just as they start to think the end is near, they discover what appears to be a paradise, with food as far as the prehistoric eyes can see.
Without hesitation, they barrel through utopia only to fall into a handy trap that ropes them all together, strung up in a tree.
To their surprise, they meet a group of humans that embody this "new age" of living.
The Bettermans, as their known, have actually found a way to modernize this particular portion of the forest.
As the Croods interact with this heaven on Earth, they start to adopt a more relaxed, more sophisticated lifestyle.
Eep, though, whose curiosity knows no bounds, notices her new gal pal Dawn has a certain yearning to escape this isle of solitude. To her, it feels like a prison.
Before you know it, the two girls have hopped on the back of the Croods' furry feline friend Chunky, and headed for the nearest exit out of the place.
Once you leave safe haven, though, that means you're leaving the pack. That can't stand for the tribe, who are now on the hunt to find the girls and bring them home - because, hey, rules.
Let the journey begin!
That's, of course, just our breakdown of what's happening in Crood historic times. You can see for yourself.
