With great power comes great responsibility. This credo couldn't ring truer for this highly anticipated box office behemoth "Spider-Man: No Way Home." The hype for this film is unmatched when comparing to any other film that has come out this year. Not only does it signify the continuation of the MCU, but it's also Holland's third standalone Spider-Man flick. The number of rumors surrounding this film alone have made it a bucket list film that casual moviegoers and Marvel fans alike are going to see this holiday season. But the real question we bet you're wondering is, does it live up to the hype? Or is it not all that it's cracked up to be? • The cast in this film is mind-blowing. Spider-Man villains from almost every universe return as if we'd just seen them yesterday. And their performances are more powerful than ever. Even with so many talented actors, director Jon Watts manages to give everyone ample time in the spotlight.
  • "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is one of the few MCU films where fans of all ages will experience different forms of nostalgia all in the same film.
  • We get to see Peter Parker evolve even further as his character is tested again and again. He's finally forced to grow into a true superhero and the version Spider-Man that he's meant to be.
  • This is possibly the most emotional Marvel film that will certainly make you laugh, but that's guaranteed to make you cry.

Or Not...

  • With so much ground to cover given the connection to previous Spider-Man films, it can feel a bit slow at times as wrangling the villains and trying to contextualize their existence in this new universe.
  • For those who aren't really fans of the MCU or past Spider-Man films, you may feel a bit lost with regards to the characters and their relationships with each other.
  • If we look closely at the premise of the film, it can be argued that Spider-Man foolishly and selfishly convinced Doctor Strange to alter the universe with a spell when there are much less universe-threatening options that could have been discussed. Would Spider-Man really jeopardize the entire universe because his identity was discovered?

Watch or Not?
