Space Jam: A New Legacy
Comedy / 2021
Basketball superstar LeBron James finds adventure with the Looney Tunes gang.
Welcome back to the Space Jam! It's been more than 20 years since Michael Jordan and the Lune Squad took on the Monstars. Now, with Jordan retired, LeBron James will be the one recruiting teammates to face off against the Goon Squad in the new trailer for "Space Jam 2."
"Space Jam 2" Trailer Breakdown
The trailer begins with James encouraging his son to follow in his footsteps by attending a camp. James' son Dom doesn't agree with his dad, saying that he has his own dreams that don't involve basketball. Mid-argument, Dom wanders into some kind of data room where he's sucked into a portal to another world. James quickly follows.
After flying by multiple wacky-looking worlds, James lands in the Serververse where he's greeted by the villain of the film, Al-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle). This antagonist tells James that he must win in a game of basketball to get his son back. Then, he's immediately dropped into Tune World. And who do you think is the first person he runs into?
Eh, what's Up, James?
Enter Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Tunes. With his son on his mind, James begins racking his brain for all the most elite cartoon characters he wants for his team. We see that his first four choices right off the bat are Superman, Gandalf, King Kong, and the Iron Giant. Yeah, try guarding any one of those choices without getting flattened. At first look, we thought maybe this was going to be a 2D cartoon b-ball brawl. And we'll admit we were kind of bummed out. But then, after James regenerates in 3D along with literally every awesome cartoon character from the 90's that you can think, we lost our mind!
Sure, we'll want to get tickets for this movie when it comes out. But we'd rather pay extra for stadium seats so that we could sit next to the Flintstones or maybe even the Mystery Gang. As the Tune Squad begins to ball, we get that slow-mo sequence that has LeBron jumping through the roof for an epic dunk. Too bad that he slams into the imaginary wall before getting to the backet. Ouch, talk about dropping the ball. Anyways, we can explain this new trailer for "Space Jam 2" all day, but you need to click here or below and see it for yourself.
