We'll admit it, too. Watching the last two "Fast" movies, we were like, actress Nathalie Emmanuel (the series' adorable team hacker Megan Ramsey) looks so familiar.
Finally, though, it hit us (after watching the first "F9" preview on constant repeat). In just the right light, Emmanuel bears an eerie, striking resemblance to actress Kerry Washington. And in a lot of ways, Emmanuel could almost be her spunky, energetic younger sister.
However, that might not be why you recognize her. The 32-year-old Emmanuel, while still so fresh-faced she could pass for a college freshman, does have lots of tv and film credits under her belt.
Here, we present three of her most noteworthy characters to date.
1 / Sasha Valentine on 'Hollyoaks' (2006 – 2010)
For four years and almost 200 episodes, teen Emmanuel played a credible wild and rebellious hellion on the popular British soap opera "Hollyoaks." The series may not be familiar to American audiences, but to "Fast & Furious" international fans, this could be how they know her best. Her character went through some big plotlines, including a lot of physical abuse and drug addiction. In the end, thankfully, she made it through.
2 / Missandei on 'Game of Thrones' (2013 – 2019)
Unfortunately, like a lot of "Game of Thrones" characters, Emmanuel's Missandei ultimately met a grim end. But over the course of six seasons, Nathalie Emmanuel made a huge impression. She played a former slave who overcomes her situation to become a highly trusted confidant to lead Daenerys Targaryen. For "GOT" fans who also like "Fast," this is the reason Emmanuel's a team favorite.
3 / Harriet in 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' (2015) and 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' (2018)
As Emmanuel started making waves in the "Fast" movies, she also took a couple laps around the "Maze Runner" track. Subsequently, she proved once more that it never hurts to have a quality YA movie adaptation – or two - on your resume. Especially if you're a millennial movie star.
Chuck is an editor/writer who's worked for NCM, Fandango, Movies.com, MediaTrip, Hollywood.com and Newsweek. His favorite movie is "Jaws." He's definitely a dog guy.
