Spider-Man: Far From Home

Action / 2019 / PG-13

Peter Parker's relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures -- each representing Earth, air, water and fire -- emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.

Why would we be surprised that "Spider-Man: Far From Home" was voted the most legit Gen Z movie? This quirky, pop culture-obsessed version of Spider-Man that Tom Holland brings to life is treasured by Gen Z audiences, and the film is currently ranked 25th on the list of highest-grossing films.

When a teenage superhero gets half of his moves from "super old" (say, from the '80s?) movies he's seen, that's about as Gen Z as it gets.

It also doesn't hurt that Holland and Zendaya are both teen heartthrobs that younger audiences either want to be or be with.

The film is the not only the end of Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it's a passing of the torch from Iron Man to Spider-Man, which is both sad and exciting.
