The last film from Tom Cruise's franchise "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" was the highest grossing film in the franchise thus far - $790.1M and counting (!)
The critics and fans loved the recent installment so it was obvious that the show must go on, spurring director Christopher McQuarrie to agree to direct two more films. Today, we've learned from one of his Instagram posts that he has drafted "Tolkien" star Nicholas Hoult to join the crew for the next two installments!
Christopher posted a picture of Nicholas with the caption "Say, @nicholashoult, care to raise a little hell?"
If McQuarrie's post wasn't enough, Holt responded with his own Insta post saying "Love to. Though why stop at a little? @christophermcquarrie #MI78." First, we love the banter between these two, both super excited for the continuation of the classic franchise. Second, since McQuarrie and Hoult are talking about "raising a little hell," would that mean Holt could be a new villain for Ethan Hunt to outsmart? Just speculation based on how we're interpreting their conversation...but that doesn't mean we'll be wrong....
