Thriller / 2021

The perfect mix of cool and creepy. That's how we would guess the young girl in this flick is feeling about her night out in London. Why so hot and cold you might wonder? Well, when she decided to go downtown, she probably didn't expect to travel back in time as well. The teaser trailer for "Last Night in Soho" was finally revealed and we certainly got more than we bargained for.

"Last Night in Soho": Trailer Breakdown

This abstract preview shows a girl named Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie) heading out for the night in London. When she enters the cinema for the premiere of the 1965 James Bond film "Thunderball," we already know something is up. When she goes to take off her coat, she see in the mirror a beautiful stranger (Anya Taylor-Joy) who mirrors her every move.

Then, Eloise suddenly wakes up. But was it really a dream? By this point, there's no doubt that director Edgar Wright is about to take us on a trip that we may not be able to come back from. Eloise appears to be enamored by her 1960s counterpart, and as we go deeper into the chaos, this unsuspecting girl begins to get lost in her new night lifestyle.

She starts changing her appearance to be more similar to the likeness of her dream persona. The more she lets the new personality in, the more she feels like she's losing control. What is her reality now? And the more important question, what isn't? Her fun nights as the gleaming girl from the 1960s are beginning to make her present reality a never-ending nightmare.

Because this is only the first trailer for "Last Night in Soho," there's not much more we can take away. But what we do know is, actions have consequences. And it's only a matter of time until she truly loses herself in the "fantasy." Check out the full trailer below and see if you catch anything we missed.
