Of the three films on our list, this one is easily MacKay's most unhinged role. He takes on the character of Ned Kelly, an outlaw who's essentially born into a life of crime. As Ned and his brother Dan begin recruiting more people to their "Kelly Gang," the mayhem they produce becomes more and more insurmountable. MacKay in full fury leads this band of rebellious misfits into a war against any and all constables of the law.

    Captain Fantastic

Here we have MacKay as the socially awkward kid in an anything but ordinary family. Bodevan Cash has lived his entire life in isolation from the real world. And now he must try to enter a society that's he's never actually been a part of. MacKay's character in this flick would actually have a lot in common with his character in "Wolf." Both are boys trying to adjust to normal society when all they've ever really known is how to make it in the wilderness.

In our opinion, this is the most impressive George MacKay flick so far. Even if we set aside how incredible the cinematography is (courtesy of Oscar winner Roger Deakins), we have to acknowledge MacKay's spectacular performance. His character will do whatever it takes to deliver an important message. And in doing so, he fights through everything standing in his way without question, despite any fears. The impressive film from director Sam Mendes went on to win 3 Oscars and 2 Golden Globes.
