The last time we saw our old pal Newt Scamander, he and his friends met up with Albus Dumbledore following their epic fight against Gellert Grindelwald. Because of a seemingly unbreakable blood pact between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, these two legendary wizards are physically unable to fight each other. It'll be up to Newt Scamander and his group of sorcerers to face off against Grindelwald. So, let's dig into this trailer for "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" and see what we find.

'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore': Trailer Breakdown

One of the biggest changes that we should note before looking at this trailer is that Gellert Grindelwald has been recast in this iteration of the franchise. Formerly played by Johnny Depp, Grindelwald is now being played by "Doctor Strange" star Mads Mikkelsen. Even from this short preview, we can already see why Mikkelsen's Grindelwald and Dumbledore's alleged half-brother Aurelius Dumbledore (aka Credence Barebone) are considered as some of the most dangerous wizards in the film.

Scamander's new team of spell-casters includes his Muggle friend Jacob Kowalski, who's been personally gifted a wand from Dumbledore. For fans of the original Harry Potter franchise, you might think of Jacob as an adult version of Neville Longbottom. He's easily underestimated. But he's also very capable of making a huge impact when given the right opportunity. Who knows, he may even end up saving the day like Neville did against Voldemort.

All we can say is it looks like the spells are getting much more intense. And we can definitely see some fantastic new beasts that we're looking forward to meeting. There's even one scene at the end where Jacob is at the dining hall with what appears to be some Hogwarts students. Since this is a prequel to the Harry Potter films, maybe there's a chance we'll meet some other characters when they were younger. We know it's unlikely, but we'd love to see an adolescent Severus Snape running around causing some mischief. Make sure to check out the full trailer below.
