One of the biggest names and physiques in cinema right now has just turned 53 years old. No, we're not talking about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, but instead Dave "The Destroyer" Bautista. Well technically that isn't his nickname yet, but we're trying it out to see if it sticks. Anyways, this heavyweight is celebrating another birthday today. Bautista is a name in Hollywood that you're going to be hearing a lot as the star is still on the rise headed to the moon. For 2022, the actor is already set to star in "Knives Out 2." On the horizon for 2023, he'll be reprising his role as Drax for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" as well as bringing back Glossu Rabban Harkonnen for "Dune: Part II." So, let's honor Dave Bautista on his special day with five of his best movies that you should check out.
First on our list of Dave Bautista movies features Bautista as a ruthless assassin named Mr. Hinx who's hellbent on killing James Bond (Daniel Craig). We don't want to give too much away about Bautista's performance but all we'll say is if he wants your chair, your best course of action would be to give it to him...and run away quickly. Otherwise, you probably won't see what's coming next.
Army of the Dead
This is one of Bautista's more recent roles that showed audiences he has the name, physicality, and acting chops to be the leading man. Bautista is tasked with recruiting a group of talented misfits for a job recovering a hidden fortune buried beneath Las Vegas in a territory that's been overrun by a zombie apocalypse. Essentially, it's a suicide mission. And Bautista is the man for the job. He leads his team with no fear and complete confidence no matter how many curve balls are thrown his way. This is one of the movies where we really get to see Dave Bautista come into his own. What surprised us the most about this flick is how much of his emotional side we get to see.

Blade Runner 2049
Continuing to move down the list, we land on another one of Bautista's action-packed roles. He plays a rogue Nexus-8 replicant named Sapper Morton. Bautista doesn't hold back any punches in this flick because for most of the film he's either farming or fighting. The most impactful scene in the film for his character is when he takes on an LAPD Nexus-9 replicant named K (Ryan Gosling) who tries to "retire" him. At one point, Sapper Morton even begins slamming K into the wall so hard that they both fall through.
Master Z: Ip Man Legacy
For this flick, we can almost guarantee (unless you've seen it) that you didn't know Bautista was in it. So, there's a trivia tip you can use to impress your friends. Anyways, Bautista fits in with this crew perfectly. Pretty much the entire film, everyone is fighting. Fists are flying, bodies are being slammed, and Bautista is throwing haymakers left and right. It won't be a fair fight for him or for them. He's so big and bulky that he can't move as quickly or dodge as well. But if you let one of his punches lands or if he gets ahold of you, it's game over.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Finally, we've made it to Bautista's star-defining, breakout role. The unapologetic brute whose strength is nearly unmatched and whose ability to understand metaphors is non-existent. Nothing - at least physically - goes over Drax's head. His reflexes are too fast. Though this was the film that we chose, his character has appeared in the sequel to this film as well as various Avengers films. No one will ever forget his iconic line from "Avengers: Infinity War": "I'll do you one better...why is Gamora?" Thank you for that Drax.
