Today marks the 41st birthday for "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum. He's made quite the name for himself taking on many diverse roles over the years going from the pretty boy love interest to bonafide funny man to American hero. Tatum has proved time and time again that he has no problem taking on any genre. So, to honor Channing Tatum on his special day, we've picked out 3 of his best movies that you might not have seen that you need to watch now.
1The LEGO Movie
Bet you would've never guessed that Channing Tatum would be voicing Lego Superman in "The Lego Movie." And yet here we are. Tatum does an incredible job bringing this Lego character to life. And what's even better, his "21 Jump Street" co-star Jonah Hill voices Lego Green Lantern. Every chance that he gets, Tatum's Lego Superman is trying to avoid Hill's annoying Lego Green Lantern. We knew these two had chemistry, but this is a voice performance you need to see for yourself.
Next on our list is one of Tatum's more recent roles from a few years ago. He pulls together his best Southern drawl to play West Virginian Jimmy Logan. This Steven Soderbergh directed film is a comedy crime drama in which Jimmy Logan and his brother Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) are planning a robbery. We'll attest that mixing all those genres might not seem entirely natural. And sometimes that combination creates a box office bomb that has no hope of being taken seriously. But, somehow, Tatum is able to pull it off.
Our third and final pick is probably the one that we admire the most. The reason being is that this is a side of Channing Tatum we don't think we've ever seen in any of his other movies. He reaches into himself and pulls out some heavy feelings. Feelings that almost seem too heavy for him to bear. And, at the same time, Tatum is an absolute brut in this flick. With the help of A-listers Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo, he's able to reach emotional heights that can be so felt strongly, he doesn't even need to use words to make us feel what his character is feeling. His actions speak louder than anything he could say.
