Last weekend there was only one movie that was expected to have an enormous opening, and that was "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

"Though Harley did claim the #1 spot in the box office, she didn't rake in as much dough as we (and the rest of the box office predictions) thought she would.

The budget for the film was roughly $84.5 million. The domestic gross for opening weekend was about $33.0 million. With the Warner Bros. film not making any of the predictions (lower estimates had the film at least clearing $40 million), the studio decided that the title of the film could have had something to do with its lower-than-expected weekend?

Thus, the newest DC film in theaters will now be known as "Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey," starting immediately.

Will the sudden title change make some significant difference? It seems unlikely, but we'll stay optimistic."Birds of Prey" received good reviews overall, and we're not exactly sure what caused the kooky queen to fall from her rainbow throne, so the emancipation of the absurdly long title may be exactly what the film needs...we'll see.
